Psalm 133:1 says “How good and pleasant it is
when God’s people live together in unity!”
It seems like today more than ever, community has to be intentional. There’s big projects at work, soccer practice for the kids, yard work calling your name, never ending social media posts the world expects you to keep up on, and you have to sleep SOMETIME. We have to be intentional to to just take a second and reach out to people around us. To connect. To go deeper than “how are you?!” and get to know the person. To celebrate each other’s joys, to comfort in times of sorrow, to share life together.
Getting married and moving towns has been such a great adventure that wouldn’t change for the world. My husband, Matt, is the best partner in crime I could ever ask for, but we knew that we needed to connect to other people. So we have made it a point to be intentional. We are joining small groups at church, asking to spend time with family and with friends, and making an honest effort to attend where we are invited. I challenge you to do the same and see if you don’t feel a deeper connection with God and feel more joy. So, go and live together in unity!
